If you like this kind of stories, there is a comic called "Seuls" ("Alone" in French) by Fabien Vehlmann and Bruno Gazzotti. The original setting is similar with every adolescent and adult having disappeared and the remaing kids realising that the world around them is abnormal.
There is an english translation if you are interested.

A bland character is the one where you can easily self insert into (having some clichè anime cliques) examples, take any isekai protagonists or harem protagonists like that of Ichika from Infinite Stratos. Naoya is over the top straight forward and honest, which eventually makes him cringy. Is that bland like no character in him ?
And moreover, liking this anime or not, I've already seen various people either whole heartedly dissing it or enjoying it to the heart's content.
The same thing happened recently with demon slayer by Tengen Uzui having three wives. Some wokes got very offended by that piece of fiction. And so much compare to this because because DS is mainstream. And point to be remember, Uzui having 3 wives is polygamy as he's already married. And the according to the time period where DS was set, Taishp era, it was culturally allowed too.
P.S. To slap you bf right after he ask for a consent for polyamorous relationship, seem very exaggerated to me tho 😂 never mind, you may not reply me, but how old are ya ?

Of course it is not the norm, of course poly isn't considered normal by society's standards, that doesn't mean it's wrong. I just feel glad there's an anime that represents me and that doesn't just bastardize the idea of polyamory for it to be the butt of the joke.
If you couldn't appreciate it that's fine and I'm sorry you felt like your time was wasted. Personally I enjoyed some of the jokes, and I do feel like you calling it trashy just because it doesn't appeal to you or your morals is a bit disrespectful. It would be like me calling a Yuri anime trashy because it doesn't appeal to me being a male and because I think that what the characters are doing is wrong(and of course I don't believe that).

I read your comment again and I'm not sure if I understood your criticism well. If you have a problem with just the fact that the show depicts polyamory, then my comment stands. If you think the writing, setting, characters, etc. are just bland and not relatable then I guess I can see your point of view.
I think the most genuine part of the anime is the way characters are feeling about the situation so I think it needs an unrealistic setting as an excuse to explore those aspects of the story. I think it would be hard, given that poly isn't normalized, to not just jump in into the whole thing like they did in the show so I don't really mind the "unrealistic" aspects of it (ie how fast things are moving and the fact that they moved in with each other instantly).

Polyamorous relationships aren't something acceptable in the "Slice Of Life" genre. Andre Tellez, there is no "relatability" or how we say it, "wholesomeness" in this anime. Just, a bland, worthless wannabe spicy plot. Im a girl talking to you, right now and I believe that I am old enough to define how I want to spend my life(unlike my brother owning this account lol). If someone came to me, a boy for example, and told me this, you know, that he wants to be in a polyamorous relationship, eh, I would most probably slap him. EStands4Emmabuel, you are right about the morals. This anime doesn't even count as a "Slice Of Life". There isn't anything relatable in this, or wholesome. Just...one guy and two girls, with no comedy at all, no in real life situations, and trying to be "normal"(the anime I mean). This anime isn't trying to depict something normal. Life isn't that way. It's completely unnatural to depict something like this "relatable". So, Andre Tellez, I am politely and just civilized like stating that you are wrong. Having seen a great deal of romantic animes, like Toradora, "My Teen Romantic Comedy Is Wrong As Expected" and others more...spicy like "Domestic Girlfriend" or "Darling In The Franxx" I can tell that this anime fails to enter the "Slice Of Life" genre miserably, it's comedy is cringy, and the show is overly bland. If you try to make a debut of these things in anime, with this kind of plot, involving polyamorous relationships, don't do it. Although it won't fail miserably, because there are many people that consider it "normal" (but this not), the anime will still be labeled as some of the worst. Like this is. Completely disappointing, I wish I watched something else than wasting my little time, also thinning my schedule.

​@TheEStands4Emmanuel I kinda saw your reply and I can tell you're very ignorant. Not only by misunderstanding the difference between polygamy and polyamory but also by infering that only "backwards" third world countries engage in it.
Polyamory is a rather modern take on non-monoganous relationships. It's based on the idea of compersion, the opposite feeling of jelousness. Basically, being able to be happy for your partner for resons outside of yourself. And the idea that having a partner does not have to define you.

@TheEStands4Emmanuel the insecurities the characters portray in respect to their polyamorous relationship are 100% accurate and representative of the struggles a lot of people have in polyamory.
You need just a smidge of disbelief to accept how things played out but the actions, and decision making logic doesn't strand away from reality. I mean, you know that people do engage in polyamory, there's people that are definitely willing to do it.
The show portrays the scenario of an open minded incredibly honest set of characters that are trying to make it work. It is only unrealistic in the sense that people usually aren't so upfront about their feelings and intentions, but the core idea is the same because the ideal polyamorous relationship, or any relationship at that, is exactly that, open minded and honest.
